QUINTON TWP. — A group is looking to open a dollar store at a vacant storefront on Route 49, according to a public notice that ran in the May 30, edition of the South Jersey Times.

The group — known as "Salem-Quinton, LLC" — will go before the township's planning board on June 10, to get approval on a plan to open a Dollar General store on Salem-Quinton Road just east of the Salem City line.

The notice said the group is seeking approval of a 9,441 square-foot retail store, as well as other improvements including parking, landscaping and signage.

In order to get approval, the group must obtain several use variances and design waivers for the site.

The notice states that they are seeking variances related to off-street parking at the store, as well as the number and size of signs. They are also hoping to maintain existing variances at the site related to the size of the lot.

The store's proposed location at 500 Salem-Quinton Road was the home of Full Throttle Cycles which is now closed. It is less than two miles from two dollar stores located at the 5th Street shopping center, in Salem.

Jason R. Tuvel, attorney for Salem-Quinton, LLC, declined comment Monday. Calls made to township mayor Joseph Donelson were not immediately returned.

The planning board will be open to the public on June 10, at 7 p.m.
